Jamaica elimnated
Jamaica was officially eliminated from the 2014 CONCACAF World Cup Qualifier after a 2-0 loss to the United States in Kansas City. The Americans and Costa Rica had already secured two of the three
automatic spots to World Cup Brazil and the win has allowed the USA to clinch first place with one game remaining.
Mexico kept their hopes alive with a dramatic 2-1 win over Panama in Mexico City while Honduras got one step closer to clinching the third automatic spot with a 1-0 win over Costa Rica..

USA and Costa Rica booked for Brazil.
With two games remaining in the CONCACAF final (Hexagonal) round schedule, the United States and Costa Rica have clinched 2 of the three automatic spots to the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. USA
secured its seventh consecutive trip to FIFA showpiece after defeating arch rivals Mexico 2-0 at Crew Stadium in Columbus Ohio for a group leading 16 points while Costa Rice with 15 points
clinched after its 1-1 draw against the Reggae Boyz in Kingston, Jamaica.
The battle is on for the last two spots with Jamaica mathematically eliminated from the automatic third place since Panama has 11 points to the Reggae Boyz 4 points.
Honduras controls its destiny and can clinch the third spot with a win in their next game at home against Costa Rica on October 11, and a draw between Panama and Mexico in Mexico City, and/ or a
win in Jamaica four days later to end their campaign.
Panama pivotal game will be against Mexico in Mexico City and a surprise win will all but clinch at least a playoff spot for Panama.
Mexico is in a must win situation in their next game at home against Panama because of their miniscule goal output in the goal-difference department compared to Honduras and Panama.
Jamaica will be eliminated with a win by either Panama or Mexico and the two team meet next. A draw between will keep the Jamaica Reggae Boyz in the hunt for the playoff fourth spot until the
last match.

USA, Mexico, & Honduras clinch while Costa Rica lost in Playoffs
After the results of the final CONCACAF qualifying matches last Wednesday, USA leads the CONCACAF Final round qualifiers with 20 points while Mexico and Honduras finished second and
third respectively to secure the three automatic spots to the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa.
Mexico did what was necessary against Trinidad and Tobago, in what turned out to be a dull affair with almost the same amount of Mexican supporters in attendance as Soca Warriors
supporters. The game ended 2-2 and it and it seemed like every time T&T scored, Mexico responded accordingly.
Mexico second equalizer in the
65th minute to make it a 2-2 ball game. It was a neat placement by Carlos Salcido to set up a somewhat exciting finish to the dull game. Both teams missed late chances by
hitting the crossbar as the game finished in a deserving 2-2 draw.
With the tie Mexico finished in second place with 19 points, one point behind USA. Trinidad and Tobago finished their 2010 campaign in last place with 6 points in the Hexagonal round.
Honduras finished in third place with 16 points after defeating El Salvador 1-0, while Costa Rica finished in fourth place on goal difference after allowing USA to come back from a
two goal half time deficit to tie 2-2 in the 4th minute of injury time.
Honduras defeat El Salvador 1-0 to clinch the third and final spot after Costa Rica tie with USA. Costa Rica now has to play Uruguay, the fifth place South American team in a home and
away playoff series to get to the 2010 World Cup.
Update:
Costa Rica was eliminated from 1-0 loss to Uruguay in its first game at home after drawing the second game 1-1 on November 18 in Uruguay to lose on aggregate.
